Sustainable printing and video solutions
A few months ago, Inter officially said goodbye to its old headquar¬ters in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II shopping centre and moved to “The Corner”, a complex owned by the Generali group in Milan’s Porta Nuova district. The modern and innovative design of the building reflects the club’s ambition and vision for the future – and it is essential that working practices and the internal configuration of the offices convey this vision too. Inter Milan voiced the need to equip its offices with a functional and technologically advanced infrastructure. As Inter’s official Digital Workplace Provider, Konica Minolta was able to meet this requirement and create an integrated and interactive digital office.
The digital office for the new headquarters
Inter’s printing and document scanning infrastructure has been fully upgraded to improve organisational efficiency, create a collaborative working environment and foster a “smarter” way of working. Around 40 of the very latest MFPs have been installed in the new headquarters and sports centres. Inter opted for Konica Minolta’s bizhub multifunctional devices owing to their customisable and easy-to-use interface, their high standards of security and data protection, and the ability to control access to the devices via the the YSoft SafeQ print management software. Proactive monitoring of remote peripherals was seen as a further advantage by the club, since it wanted to have 24-hour assistance at its disposal. Environmental concerns were not neglected either.
Given Inter’s green credentials, Konica Minolta suggested the Enabling Carbon Neutrality programme, a service that allows the club to offset the CO2 emissions produced by printing through investments in eco-sustainability projects undertaken and endorsed by ClimatePartner. The compact size, quiet operation and design of the machines rounded off the sales pitch.
Perimeter security and site access control have been taken care of too, with the installation of 46 intelligent Mobotix video cameras around the outside for counting the people entering and exiting the building. Inter chose Konica Minolta’s Mobotix camers not only because of their reputation for reliability, their high-quality video recording capability and their low maintenance requirements, but primarily because they do not provide mere video cameras — they provide integrated hardware and software capable of creating a single intelligent system.
The consolidation of a partnership
This new collaboration demonstrates the esteem and mutual trust between the two parties, both of whose corporate policies are aimed at developing multiple areas, from sport to the environment and from corporate social responsibility to attention to the workplace, putting them on the winning track of constant modernisation.
Inter Milan is happy with the results of the project and has left the door open for further technological developments using Konica Minolta solutions. Konica Minolta is delighted to have been chosen to collaborate on this project and hopes that this is merely the start of a long and successful partnership that will benefit both parties.
“The technologies that we’ve implemented with Konica Minolta have enabled us to simplify our IT infrastructure and make it more efficient,” says Alessandro Antonello, Chief Executive Officer, Inter Milan Football Club. “This not only saves us money, but also gives us greater control over an extremely sensitive IT domain that must be handled with care.”
