Access control in hospital increases security and safety
Smart video surveillance for access control and temperature measurement increases security and safety in multiprofile hospital for active treatment “Yuliya Vreska” in Byala municipality.
The hospital in the Municipality of Byala - “Yulia Vrevska” has a 120-year history of providing health care to the residents of the municipalities of Byala, Tsenovo, Dve Mogili and Polski Trambesh. Over the years, the hospital has established itself as a diagnostic, consultation, and treatment centre for about 38 thousand people.
The management of the hospital contacted its longest-standing and consistent partner Vipimex Ltd. in order to introduce a solution for smart video surveillance in the critical areas of the health facility. Vipimex Ltd. has been on the market for 26 years, promoting the Konica Minolta brand and increasing its market share on the territory of Bulgaria.
The hospital has now introduced
access control with facial recognition that only allows those who have previously been registered on an approved list into the department. An
access control system with temperature measurement has also been installed at the entrance of the hospital, which prevents employees and visitors with fever from entering the hospital.
Challenge
- Lack of prevention by staff/medical personnel who enter the hospital with fever
- Unregulated access of people in departments with restricted mode, as a result of the use of cards and readers that can be used by third parties
- Lack of access control at the entrance and exit of the health facility
- Insufficiently precise monitoring of the territory of the health facility
Solution
Access control with facial recognition in an restriced mode area
Access control with temperature measurement at the entrance of the hospital
Advantages
- Access to the department for staff included in an approved list based on photos and pre-training in relation to the system, by eliminating the need to use cards and readers
- Hospital access monitoring combined with thermal screening that prevents employees and visitors with fever from entering the hospital
- Ability to upgrade; entering/excluding access of persons
- Receiving alarm messages in order to implement subsequent preventive actions
